February 1, 2012 PRESS RELEASE:
On February 1, 2012 at approximately 1830 hrs, Pacolet Officers attempted to stop a vehicle at Knuckle St. and Brown Street for a traffic violation when the driver of the vehicle stopped and exited the passenger side of the vehicle and fled on foot. Pacolet Officers pursuing on foot, observed the individual, one Jarvis Gist, as being wanted on warrants by this Agency and Union County Sheriff Office. Gist eluded Officers on foot. Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office arrived and a perimeter was set up. After a short search of the area, Gist was located hiding behind a residence and was taken into custody without incident. Gist was transported to the Spartanburg County Jail for booking.
